The Fighting Illini women's cross country team lost just one letterwinner from last year's squad and had a goal to make significant improvements with this year's team.

Senior's Hunter Mickow and Jannis Topfer closed out their season by finishing the 10K NCAA Championship race 46th and 64th, respectively.

For the second consecutive year, the Fighting Illini will send two individual runners to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Louisville, Ky.

Redshirt freshman Alyssa Schneider and senior Courtney Yaeger earned All-Region honors after finishing first and second for the Illini at the NCAA Midwest Regionals.

The Fighting Illini men's cross country team placed fourth out of 29 teams and qualified two for the national championships at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday in Springfield, Mo.
